Blog Tour: Half Blood Character Interview w/ Aiden

We're the next stop in The Teen Scene's Half Blood tour & I'm so excited to introduce you guys to Aiden, the main love interest in the story.

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems
with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden.

And that would kind of suck.

You can read my 4.5 star review here.

Hey Aiden! Thank you so much for being with us today. If there was on thing you could change about the rules in your world, what would you change?

Thank you for having me, Katie. I’d change how the half-bloods are treated. I could never agree with… with what happens to those who do not have the privilege of entering the Covenant. Come to think of it, the fact that they are forced into giving over their live to the Covenant. Isn’t that just another form of servitude?

What is one of the first things that drew you to Alex?

Her attitude. I know, shocking right? I’d never tell her this, but I secretly find her rather amusing. She never sits still either. Some part of her is always moving. And she has this—this remarkable resiliency to just bounce back from anything. She’s possibly the strongest person I know. Wait. That was more than one thing. Gods, what am I thinking?

What do you think your strongest trait is? If you could change one thing about yourself, what would you change?

I’m really not sure what my strongest trait is? I’ve been told I have the patience of a saint, so I guess I’ll go with that. To overcome my weakness, which is not so much a trait as it is a person.

How would you describe your brother Deacon?

Good gods, does the death of me sum it up? I don’t want children because of him. Don’t look so shocked. Do you know what he planned to do at my ‘surprise’ birthday party? Naked Twister. Just the other day I had to chase him down to Myrtle Beach. He behaves as if there are no daimons in the world.

If you could give one thing to Alex, what would it be and why?

I’d give her back her sense of control back and her freedom. I couldn’t choose just one thing.
