Happy Easter!

We want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! We hope you all have a wonderful day.

Weekly Feature & In My Mailbox #71

Happy Sunday! Thank you to everyone who joined our chat with Cassie on Thursday night. We had a HUGE turn out and it was wonderful chatting with everyone and talking spoilers. We are hoping to do this again with Cassie.

This past week Sophie and I have both read a few really good books and we're currently reading a few we're looking forward to sharing our reviews on. I don't have our review schedule in front of me, I apologize I'm being lazy, but we do have some great reviews we'll be posting this week.

We're also taking part in two blog tours, one is for the iClue promotion which will be up on Wednesday and Jennifer Murgia's Leminscate which will be up on Friday.

In My Mailbox is a meme started by Kristy at the Story Siren, and allows bloggers to share what they received this last week to review, what they bought, won or received as a gift.

My highlight of the week was receiving this beautiful gift from Sophie, who attended two of Cassie and Holly's signings in CA. She not only surprised me with a copy of COFA, the B&N signed limited edition copy w/ Jace's letter, but she got it personally signed to me from Cassie. *hugs book tightly* and she sent these little goodies with it.

The Clockwork Prince and Black Heart are teasers from the first chapter and the cool about this little booklet is one site is CP and the next side BlackHeart. No, those Beastly pens didn't come from the signing... they're a little gag gift. I did get her back for those. LOL

For Review-
* This Dark Endeavor, The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein by Kenneth Oppel, published by Simon & Schuster, to be released on 8/23/2011. *this book has also ready been optioned for film*
* The Beginning of After by Jennifer Castle, published by Harper Teen, to be released on 9/6/11

Bought-
* Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter

Thank you to Sophie, Simon & Schuster and Harper Teen for this weeks wonderful reads.
What goodies did you receive this week?

TLA Re-Cap and A Giveaway!

It's been a crazy busy, fun last two weeks. One weekend it was the Teen Con in Houston and that lead right into TLA. The fun kicked off Tuesday night when a few of us TX bloggers were able to meet up with Sophie Jordan and Terra Lynn Childs for dinner. It was so much fun and I walked away from the evening with my stomach hurting from laughing so hard.

I was so excited to attend TLA, it was my first time attending something this amazing. Thank you to Jen Bigheart of (I read banned books), I was able to be a volunteer over the author signings on Wednesday. I worked at both Allie Condie's and Lauren Oliver's signings. I want to gush and say both Allie and Lauren are so awesome! I was so excited to meet them, and it was such a pleasure to talk with them and work at their signings. It was a lot of fun meeting people from all over TX who came to meet them.

There were a lot of authors there and since my time was limited that day, I missed meeting some of them. Along with Allie and Lauren, I was able to meet Janet Fox, and I visited with Terra Lynn Childs and Mari Mancusi. I love meeting local authors. I had the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful publishers and publicists that I've had the chance to work with for the last two years. I really enjoyed being able to meet each of them.

There were a lot of TX bloggers who were there and sadly I didn't get a picture with any of them. I enjoyed hanging out with Michelle from Windowpane-Memoirs.

The following day I came back and I was able to meet Gayle Forman and Carrie Ryan. I'll admit my fan girly side got the better of me. Gayle and Carrie are absolutely amazing!! I know, I said that about Ally and Lauren too, but really, they all are.

I also got to meet Jason Henderson who was on our Made From Awesome Mega Chat the night before. He was doing a signing and I'm really looking forward to reading his Alex Van Helsing books. Cinda Williams Chima, was another author I was so excited to finally meet. Her books were some of the first books I read when I wavering on jumping back into reading YA books a few years ago. Ivy Devlin, Joy Preble, Anastasia Hopcus and James Dashner were just a few of the authors I visited at their publisher books or signing tables.

TLA was such an amazing experience and I only attended it for two days and not for the duration of the those days either. I can only imagine what the experience would have been like if I had been there the two full days. I loved meeting everyone I met. My highlights aside from being a volunteer were meeting the publishers. THANK YOU to them we're able to review some amazing books, interview authors and host some amazing giveaways. Not only was I able to come home with some fantastic books, but I have a few goodies I'm giving away TODAY!!

Thank you to Ivy Devlin, I have two signed copies of Low Red Moon I'm giving away along with SIGNED books from Carrie Ryan, and Gayle Forman. The other wonderful thing about TLA is how inexpensive the books are. Yes, there are a lot of free books, but you can also buy books at a steal of a deal. I couldn't attend the signings and not purchase a couple books, which I have a signed If I Stay and Forest of Hands and Teeth. I highly recommend going to TLA! You don't need to purchase the expensive package to attend, although that is something one day I'll be able to do. I heard the panels were phenomenal. Sorry, back to the giveaway....
