The US cover

The UK cover

See what I mean? Pretty sweet covers aren't they? Which is your favorite? It's hard to choose.

About the Book:

A SHATTERED EMPIRE
The mad Shōgun Yoritomo has been assassinated by the Stormdancer Yukiko, and the threat of civil war looms over the Shima Imperium. The Lotus Guild conspires to renew the nation’s broken dynasty and crush the growing rebellion simultaneously - by endorsing a new Shōgun who desires nothing more than to see Yukiko dead.

A DARK LEGACY
Yukiko and the mighty thunder tiger Buruu have been cast in the role of heroes by the Kagé rebellion. But Yukiko herself is blinded by rage over her father’s death, and her ability to hear the thoughts of beasts is swelling beyond her power to control.
Along with Buruu, Yukiko’s anchor is Kin, the rebel Guildsman who helped her escape from Yoritomo’s clutches. But Kin has his own secrets, and is haunted by visions of a future he’d rather die than see realized.

A GATHERING STORM
Kagé assassins lurk within the Shōgun’s palace, plotting to end the new dynasty before it begins. A waif from Kigen’s gutters begins a friendship that could undo the entire empire. A new enemy gathers its strength, readying to push the fracturing Shima imperium into a war it cannot hope to survive. And across raging oceans, amongst islands of black glass, Yukiko and Buruu will face foes no katana or talon can defeat.

The ghosts of a blood-stained past.

Sony Pictures Launches Two New TMI Interactive Sites

Sony Pictures has been busy lately. Not only are they gearing up for the August 23rd release of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie release, and prepping for The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes movie filming, they've started the City of Memes, a Simon Lewis tumblr page called Mind of Simon Lewis, and two new sites that have been revealed.

Become a Shadowhunter, an interactive site that earns TMI fans points, which enters them into the drawings that Sony is hosting through the site. Each day fans can earn new points by tweeting, and posting on facebook, inviting their friends to join etc. No purchase necessary, though each giveaway has a set number of points that are required for fans to automatically be entered to win.  I've joined! I recommend checking out the site and joining. It's FREE and has a ton of exciting Shadowhunter prizes.

Clary Fray gets her own Pinterest page! Sony Pictures launched the page yesterday, which you can follow here. The page features some of Clary's art, fashion, hair and more.

I love that Sony has gotten so interactive with the TMI fan base. What do you guys think? Are these sites you'll follow / join?

TMI Movie News: Harald Zwart Interviews / TMI Movie at the Cannes Festival

Last week we were thrilled to hear that Constantin Films announced they were filming City of Ashes and yesterday a series of interviews Harald Zwart had recently done for some Norwegian online sites surfaced, talking about his coming back to be part of the movie! As a fan, I am so thrilled that they're brining back all those who were associated with making City of Bones, for City of Ashes. Not only does that tell me that Constantin Films and Sony Pictures are extremely confident in their work, it also means we're get that same look, feel and passion that will be present in City of Bones. Not to mention everyone has Cassie's stamp of approval.

vg.no.com has a great interview with Harald about coming back for City of Ashes here.

Aftenposten has another interview with Harald here, where he is quoted as saying "That the producer of the studio begin on a sequel before the first has had a premiere, meaning they feel convinced that the film lives up to the expectations we have created in this important audience, and then some." He also went on to say how grateful he was to be apart of the sequel. (quoted translation source from TMI Source)

Don't miss Harald's interview with f-b.no.com. In it he says how excited he is about the opportunity he has to be involved with the TMI franchise.

In other movie news:

TMI is headed to the Cannes Festival! The festival which runs from May 15th-26th will screen The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie. Also there will be Mister Smith Entertainment, the financier, who will be shopping The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes to international buyers.

Shadowhunter Tarot Cards #17-#19: Valentine, Simon, Maia & Jordan

More Shadowhunter Tarot Cards!

Here's what Cassie said about Valentine:

So Cassandra Jean has finished the complete Shadowhunter Tarot, so for the next … seventy-something days I’ll be posting a card a day (okay, maybe not every day — I tend to get distracted!)  in order, from the first card to the last. Some will be under spoiler cuts; some you’ll have seen before — I’ll explain why each character has the card they have.
Valentine takes the Devil cup because, well, who else really. He is always comparing himself to Milton’s Satan, his last name is Morgenstern (which means morning star, as in How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, who did weaken the nations!) his motto is non serviam, etc and so on.
I like that Cassandra Jean has incorporated both the Mortal Cup and the chains that bind Valentine, because he really was always something of a reluctant embracer of evil. More a “ends justify the means” guy than the “burn down the world” villain Sebastian is.

Cassie recently features cards 18-19:

So Cassandra Jean has finished the complete Shadowhunter Tarot, so for the next … seventy-something days I’ll be posting a card a day (okay, maybe not every day — I tend to get distracted!)  in order, from the first card to the last. Some will be under spoiler cuts; some you’ll have seen before — I’ll explain why each character has the card they have.
Knocking off two here with the Sun card and the Moon card. The Sun becomes the Daylighter, Simon, and the Moon, for probably kind of obvious reasons, becomes the Lycanthropes, Maia and Jordan. I think Simon is leaning on a sundial. First I thought it was a tree trunk, but I’m pretty sure it’s a sundial. As it says on the sundial in Lost Souls, I only count the hours that shine.

Seriously, I hope these get released so, I can not wait to get my hands on the actual set. Check out the rest of the Shadowhunter Tarot Card Set here

TMI Fanart by Cassandra Jean: The Circle

I'm catching up on a post I missed posting of Cassie's that features Cassandra Jean's artwork of The Circle. I seriously love seeing these characters together back in their day. You can check it out here.

Cassandra Jean has also shared another The Circle artwork featuring Michael and Robert here.

Of it, Cassandra said and then Cassie had this to say:

Young Robert Lightwood and Michael Wayland. Random doodly fanart to wind down my day.
That looks awkward you guys, rumors are going to start! (because I have this thing where I imagine all parabati as being awfully close)
VERY VERY CLOSE.
