Into The Still Blue by Veronica Rossi; Blog Tour: Author Interview / Giveaway

Welcome to today's stop in the INTO THE STILL BLUE blog tour! I'm so thrilled to have author Veronica Rossi on Mundie Moms today.

* Hi Veronica! Welcome back to Mundie Moms. Sophie and I are so thrilled to have Into The Still Blue in our hands. *pets your book* Can you just lie to me and tell me your writing a few more books in this series? haha I'm not ready to see bye to your characters just yet.
Thanks for having me, Katie and Sophie! And, sure! I'm working on three more books in the series right now. *wink-wink*
* I feel like we've gone on this incredible journey with your characters. You've made us laugh, cry and of course swoon over them. Over the course of this series, which of yours character do you feel has grown and changed the most?
I'd like to think both of the main characters experienced a lot of change through the course of the trilogy. Perry, I think, really grows into his role as a leader. And Aria comes into her own identity in a really powerful way. I also actually thought a lot about the development of their relationship over the course of the three books, because that's something that has a life cycle, too.
* Over all, which character has surprised you in terms of the decisions they've made? Were you happy with all the choices they made?
There were a few surprises, definitely. Roar surprised me a few times in the final book. As far as being happy with their decisions... well, it's very hard for me to "judge" my characters. I try not to let myself think that way because it opens the door to imposing myself, my opinions and values, on them. That said, no. I wasn't happy with all the choices they made. :)
* What is one of your favorite lines from Into The Still Blue?
I like that Aria jokes with Roar about already having had a breakdown. It's very honest and human of her. I appreciate people who can joke about their shortcomings. It takes pressure off everyone.
* What's one word you'd use to describe Perry, Aria and Roar in this book?
Tight.
* There are a few unforgettable surprises in this book. Which scene surprised you the most?
I was surprised by Sable's treatment of Perry. It fascinated me, the dynamic between those two.
* Did the ending of the series change at all from when you first sat down to write this series?
No.
* With the series, what was one of your favorite scenes to write?
Oh... An early one comes to mind. The berry-tasting scene was fun. I pulled that right from the British Special Forces handbook for testing plants to see if they're poisonous. It was fun adding Perry's perspective to that -- particularly his perspective on Aria.
* What's one YA book you've read as an adult that you wish you had, had as a teen?
Graceling, by Kristin Cashore. I just love that book. Katsa is so strong, and so fierce. I wish it had come into my life sooner.
Thank you for chatting with me today!
Thank you so much for supporting the books - and Perry and Aria!

The earth-shattering conclusion to Veronica Rossi's "masterpiece" Under the Never Sky trilogy and sequel to the New York Timesbestselling Through the Ever Night (Examiner.com).

Their love and their leadership have been tested. Now it's time for Perry and Aria to unite the Dwellers and the Outsiders in one last desperate attempt to bring balance to their world.

The race to the Still Blue has reached a stalemate. Aria and Perry are determined to find this last safe-haven from the Aether storms before Sable and Hess do-and they are just as determined to stay together.

Meanwhile, time is running out to rescue Cinder, who was abducted by Hess and Sable for his unique abilities. And when Roar returns to camp, he is so furious with Perry that he won't even look at him, and Perry begins to feel like they have already lost.

Out of options, Perry and Aria assemble a team to mount an impossible rescue mission-because Cinder isn't just the key to unlocking the Still Blue and their only hope for survival, he's also their friend. And in a dying world, the bonds between people are what matter most.
