Jacket Blurb:

The truth won’t always set you free.

Less than a year ago, Neely Ambrose's biggest worry was having the freedom to follow
a path that wasn’t chosen for her.

Less than a year ago, she believed she could trust the Elders who said they had everyone’s
best interest at heart and who said they were keeping them safe from the outside.

Sixty days ago, she discovered what they had planned for everyone she loved—and that
all of it centered around her.

Now she's on the run through a dangerous wasteland full of killing machines, secret
organizations, and people who want to sell her back to the Elders for their own safety.
The whole world outside the Compound is living proof that everything in Neely's life was
a lie manufactured by the Elders, which may even include the boy she loves.

All Neely wants is the truth, but each new piece of it drives her further from what she
thought she knew. With only forty days until everyone she loves falls under the Elders'
mind control, Neely must decipher who to trust, what questions to ask, and how to get
one step ahead of the Elders, who will do anything to keep their secrets buried.

Ten Reasons I Love Being A Blogger / Reader

I've been reading the Top Ten Tuesday posts for quite awhile now and on a few of my friends's blogs, and today I thought I'd take part in this weekly feature which is hosted by The Broke & The Bookish. * The image above is also from their weekly meme.

1.  I love being a reader because.... Reading is Empowering! Reading expands our minds, open our hearts, teaches us things, makes us realize we're not alone, gives us a voice we didn't think we had, and helps us find ourselves. Reading is Freedom. It's knowledge, it's acceptance, it's that drive/courage we sometimes loose, but find it in the form of a book.

2.  I love being a reader because... I've become smarter since reading. I read everything. I love learning all that books can teach about our past, our present and about the possibilities of our future.

3. I love being a reader because ..... A good book is like an old friend. Always there for you when you need them. Speaking of friends, I've meet some of my dearest friends through reading. I love the connections reading has given me with them, and complete strangers whom I've talked books with in the bookstore.

4. I love being a reader because ....... As a kid, I did it! I endured the embarrassment of being in a special reading class all through elementary school due to my struggles with reading, and the constantly being made fun of, because of it. The more I was made fun of, and struggled, the more it pushed me to read. Books became an outlet I was bound and determined to enjoy without struggles. Now one of my greatest enjoyments is doing reading groups at my kids's elementary school.

5.  I love being a reader because ..... What's not to love about being in a room surrounded by books?! I get to go places, experiences things, and meet incredible people all without having to leave the comforts of my house. Okay that sounds like I'm crazy. You book readers know what I mean. All these things exists within the pages of a book, and I love getting "lost" within the world of the book I'm reading. My love of reading has also given me the chance to travel, and go to some incredible places/events, experience some amazing things, and meet so many awesome people. It's been amazing the adventures I've had both from books, and in real life. Geez... I'm going to shut up, because I'm sounding crazier by the minute. lol

6. I love being a blogger because..... I LOVE books! I love reading, and I love sharing my love of that with so many other people around the world. I love the friendships that have come out of that love of reading.

7. I love being a blogger because.... I love being able to help promote books, and getting those books into the hands of readers. One of the things I've loved about being a blogger is when someone tells me they've never liked reading much until they picked "such and such" book.  I love that feeling I get when I donate books to teachers and librarians. Knowing that these books are now going to fall into countless hands.

8. I love being a blogger because..... I love seeing the connection other people make with books. Not only that, I love the connections I've made through my love of reading, and my blogs. Those connections have turned into priceless friendships that I don't know what I'd do without.

9. I love being a blogger because..... I love doing something I'm passionate about. I love books, I love reading, I love talking, and promoting and discussing books. I love love spreading the book about wonderful books. I love being able to feature books, and authors, and various book related things on my blog.

10. I love being a blogger because...... READING IS COOL! I feel like sometimes I get to remind people how cool it is to read. I started a blog back when reading YA was looked down on, and I love being a blogger because I get to remind those who "just don't get it", that reading YA is COOL, and that they're missing out.

I'd love to know what some of the reasons you love being a blogger / reader are.
