Recent Bookish News

Happy Weekend! Here's some of this past week's bookish news.

Harlequin Teen revealed the cover to The Stepsister's Tale by Tracy Barrett. Out June 24th, this is one book I'm totally adding to my TBR list. It's a re-telling of Cinderella, complete with the handsome prince! Nothing is quite as it seems.... Yeah, I'm already hooked. Be sure to add it to your Goodreads shelves.

Check it out! The sequel to Rick Yancy's The 5th Wave, has a cover! USA Today revealed the cover to THE INFINITE SEA, and wow, this cover looks awesome. I'm so excited to read this book, which will be out on October 16th, from Penguin Teen. Add this one to your Goodreads shelves!
And, it sounds like The 5th Wave movie is moving forward!! Be sure to read more about that here

Just Jared revealed the book trailer for Melissa de la Cruz's The Ring and the Crown. Check it out here:

Be sure to grab your copy of the book when it hit bookstore shelves on April 1st!

Check out the ELUSION book trailer on Epic Reads!
Out now from Harper Teen, this is a book that's "a suspenseful, thrilling and romance fueled near-future mystery about a deceptively perfect virtual world and how far one girl will go to uncover the truth behind the illusions." I'm looking forward to reading this one!

The Divergent Movie opened this weekend with huge success. Thursday night alone the movie's box office estimates earnings were around $4.9 million. The buzz is that it could be a successor to Twilight at the box office. Estimates are that it can bring in close to $50 million this weekend alone (Friday-Sunday sales). Having seen the movie (read my spoiler free movie review here), I can see that happening.

To bad LionsGate/Summit hasn't produced the other major ya-adaptations that all bombed at the box office. They seem to have the touch and know how to do an adaptation right. The Twilight movie franchise, The Hunger Games movie franchise and now Divergent have all been produced by them, and have all done amazing at the box office.

With Divergent projected to do so well, it was just announced that they're making INSURGENT! Set to film in May, the movie will hit theaters next March. Hopefully after it will be ALLEGIANT!
