Top Ten Tuesday #10 - 10 Sequels I Cant Wait To Get My Hands On

This weekly meme is hosted by The Broke & the Bookish

Welcome to this week's Top Teen Tuesday post. I should say late post, as I'm running a book fair this week, and I was trying to get posts done, but the internet kept crashing. Better late than never. This week's topic is: 10 Sequels I Can't Wait To Get On Hands On

Here's the thing about sequels, THEY ARE EVIL!! Why are they evil? Because waiting to find out what happens next to characters I love is so hard, and it stinks. I'm pretty the author is off somewhere doing his/her evil laugh while us readers are laying in the fetal positions in our book spots crying over the fact we have to wait to find out what happens next in the sequel that won't be out for a WHOLE YEAR! I hate waiting for sequels. There, I said it. I hate waiting. Y'all know what I mean, especially when the book you read has a killer of a cliff hanger.

Here are 10 sequels I wish I already had in my hands.

1) GATHERING DARKNESS ( Falling Kingdoms #3) by Morgan Rhodes, 12/9/14
I LOVE, love, love this series. I NEEDED this one like yesterday. I can not wait for it's upcoming release in a couple of weeks.

Maria V. Snyder has a NEW book coming out with some of my all time favorite characters!! Yes she's the top of my list again! I can't wait to read more about Yelena, Valek, Ari & Janco.

3) Untitled Throne of Glass #4 by Sarah J. Maas, 9/10/14
I love this series and I really, really NEED THIS one to be released like now!

4) THE HEART OF BETRAYAL by Mary E. Pearson, 7/7/15
All if have to say is Rafe!

5) EVERY LAST BREATHE by Jennifer L. Armentrout, 7/28/14
Talk about a killer of an ending...... let me just sum up this series for you with two words, TEAM ROTH!

6) DEAD OF WINTER by Kresley Cole, 1/8/15
Well this can be summed up with one word... Death! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, seriously go pick up this series! Also, visit Mundie Moms on Thursday to find out more about Dead of Winter!

This is another fabulous series that I have loved. While I still need to finish book 3, I am really, really looking forward to reading book 4. I know Fairest comes out next, but WINTER is the 4th book in the Lunar Chronicles series, while Fairest is a spin off.

8) PERSUASION by Martina Boone, 10/28/14
I loved Martina's debut Compulsion, and I can not wait to find out what she has inshore for me next with Persuasion!

9CRIMSON BOUND by Rosamund Hodge, 5/5/15
This is a sequel to another fabulous debut I read this year and absolutely loved! I can not wait to read this book.

I loved The Winner's Circle, and I'm really, really, really looking forward to jumping back into this series.

What sequels are you impatiently waiting to get your hands on?

The Duff Movie Trailer

It's here! The much anticipated movie trailer for The Duff. Based on a YA best seller, the movie, which doesn't hit theaters till 2015, looks like it will be a classic similar to those 90 teen movies we all loved. You know the ones I'm talking about. Check out the trailer below:

I was not a fan of the book back when it first came out (you can read my review here), though I loved the important message author Kody Kiplinger delivered in it. I'm really hoping the movie delivers that same strong message, which from the looks of the trailer, it may. I've heard the comedy and the issues that the book tackled are well done in the movie. Even though I didn't love the book, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. What about you? Are you looking forward to seeing the movie?

NaNoWriMo Advice from YA Authors

It's NaNoWriMo time!
I love this time of year. I always get all pumped up when NaNoWriMo time rolls around. I look forward to the chance to finally sit down and work on the stories I started years ago.  But then right before I get the courage to finally do it, I chicken out. I don't know why, but I do. It's not that I'm scared to write. I've been "secretly" doing that for a few years now. When it comes to sitting down and writing under a deadline, I mentally think that it won't be good enough. Or I have the excuse of the millions of others things I need to be doing instead of sitting down and writing.

I admire my friends who each November set the goal to do NaNoWriMo  and do it. One of these years I'll finally do it, and sadly this was another year that I let get away from me with out taking part in it. If you're like me, than you'll love this advice from some of Epic Reads's fabulous authors. They recently shared NaNoWriMo Advice from YA Authors. I'd recommend reading the entire article.

Epic Reads's NaNoWriMo Advice from YA Authors

From Victoria Aveyard
“This is very cliche advice, but that’s because it’s true and it works. Finish the draft. But I need to rewrite act 1! Finish the draft. But this character arc needs to change? Finish the draft. But I need to draw another map! Finish. The. Draft. Power through your mistakes, write notes to yourself, leave scenes that aren’t working, and just get to ‘the end.’ All the stuff that tripped you up will seem so small in hindsight, and by the time you finish, the distance will let you see so many solutions you didn’t know were there before. It’s extremely hard to finish, but makes everything easier once you do.”

From Cynthia Hand
“I’m a big believer in the 3 b’s for writing inspiration: the bed, the bath, and the bus. Whenever the words aren’t coming, I lay down quietly for a while, or I take a bath (I usually keep a notebook and pencil next to the tub to write on if inspiration strikes), or I take a ride/drive–somewhere peaceful with not too much traffic (I keep one of those audio recorders that reporters use hanging from my rearview mirror and will talk my book into it). The goal is to relax the body so the mind can open up.”

From Lauren Oliver:
“Writing is like pizza. Cold pizza, good pizza, bad pizza…it’s better than no pizza! So remember: bad writing is better than no writing. :) ”

From Courtney C. Stevens
“A group of rhinos is called a crash. Why? Because of their powerful potential. Rhinos run thirty miles an hour and can only see thirty feet in front of them. Nano-ers, I say, BE THE CRASH. Run hard. Run fast. Run in a group. Your potential is a powerful thing. May you harness the motivation of this month and transform your high word counts into awesome stories in the days ahead.”

I love this advice! Thank you Epic Reads!
