Top Ten Hyped Books I've Never Read / Top Ten Tuesday #32

Hello & welcome to this week's Top Ten Tuesday. Today's topic is, Top Ten Hyped Books I've Never Read. My last Top Ten Tuesday post was, Top Ten Books I've Read So Far in 2015

Today's list of books I've never read is a little bit embarrassing. All of these books are sitting on bookshelves and have been for awhile now. The good thing is, I am planning on reading them, the bad thing is, they are featured on my list of hyped books I've not yet read. Since some of these books are apart of a series, I've included the rest of the books in the series I also need to read.

1) City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
I know! Kinda of surprising this book is on my list considering Mundie Moms is also a huge Cassandra Clare fansite. Thanks to two fans who read this book before my copy even arrived, they completely spoiled the end of the book. This was before the book itself was even released. I had really been looking forward to reading this book too. It takes the fun out of reading a book you've been waiting to get your hands on, when you how the entire book ends. One day I'll read it.

2) Harry Potter books 5-7 by J.K. Rowling
I've been working on this series for a couple years now, and now that my kids are getting into it, it's been a lot of fun discovering the awesomeness of these books right along with them. These books came out when I was in college, and back then I wasn't going to pick up a kids book and read it, nor did I have the time to read back then.

3) The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima
I adore Cinda, and love her writing. I've got the entire series sitting on my shelves. I just need the time to sit and read through the entire series from beginning to end. I know once I start the series, I'll want to read each book.

4) The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter
This is another series that's been on my bookshelves. Sophie has raved about this series to me. While I've read the first book, I need to sit and read the rest of this series.

5) The Fiery Heart / Silver Shadows / The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead
I think I'm sensing a trend here. Instead of listing one book, I'm listing either the last few in the series, or the complete series of books I still need to read. I have really enjoyed this series, but I need to finish it! I will, soon.

6) Tiger's Voyage / Tiger's Destiny by Colleen Houck
See above for the reasons why I've not yet read either of these books. This is another series I love, but I've not yet been able to sit down and read the last two books. I blame new releases for distracting me. haha I need to read these before the last book in the series is released.

7) Allegiant by Veronica Roth -
Similar to CoHF, while reading this book, a friend of mind spoiled the ending, and I stopped reading it. She had thought I read it when she told me what happened, and I put the book down. One day I'll finish it, as I really liked the book so far, and I've been a huge supporter of Veronica and the Insurgent series.

8) My True Love Gave To Me edited by Stephanie Perkins
I even pre-ordered this book, and I still haven't read it. I have no idea why. This is a great collection of short stories from a variety of authors I adore. Plus, it has Stephanie Perkins name on the book! I adore her.

9) Deliverance by C.J. Redwine
This is another series I have loved, and then all the sudden it gets to the third book, and I can't bring myself to read it. I know, that's so lame. This is another book I pre-ordered, and couldn't wait to read. I will be reading it soon, but I'm a little sad this series is ending.

10) The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson
Ditto to above. I adore Rae, and love her series! I couldn't wait to read this book, but then it arrived, and I didn't want this series to end just yet, so I waited to read it. Now I've waited too long.... I need to read this book soon.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who hasn't read at least a couple of the books listed above. What are some books you've not yet read?

  1. I have the same issue with some series books - I read the first few and then forget everything that happened. It makes it hard to pick up the next book. There's something to be said for Binge reading :)

    1. Same here! It's so frustrating because I don't have the time to go through and re-read the previous books in the series to refresh my memory on what happened. I'm all about Binge Reading! lol

  2. So many series were spoiled by early readers for me, too and others were over-hyped. I never finished Lauren Oliver's Delirium series because of a spoilery tweet. The Sarah Maas series was so hyped, I enjoyed the first book, but the second one was not my cup o' tea at all. I could go on and on, but yeah. I'm glad I read HP in the early days of the internet when all I had to do was stay away from forums.

As for Gallagher Girls -- Zach, Cammie, hell-ooooooo Mr. Solomon!
