Capitol Couture, The Hunger Games' In-World Fashion Magazine

Hunger Games fans, check out the newest installment of the in-world fashion magazine, Capitol Couture.

From the beginning, Capitol Couture, The Hunger Games' in-world fashion magazine, has captivated fans with beautiful images, editorial detailing real-world couture (through the lens of the film's world) and exclusive content from The Capitol. Blurring the lines between the fictional and the factual, the Capitol Couture brand has amassed a record-setting following on its native Tumblr platform, catching the attention of major brands.

Lionsgate and Samsung launched today the final issue, titled Ultima Volatus ("Final Flight"), which features a collaboration with fashion icon/creative director Susanne Bartsch, famed photographer Steven Klein, supermodel & television host Hannah Davis. In the newly released photos, model Hannah Davis can be seen wearing Samsung's new Gear S2.

Capitol Couture
Since its 2012 launch, Capitol Couture has featured lavish fashions from The Capitol. Today's final issue expands its editorial focus to cover the Revolution happening throughout Panem and introduces the first of three exclusive revolution looks. The first look is heavily influenced by the motion and fluidity of changing times, as well as waving flags, like the mockingjay emblazoned flag used in anti-Capitol propaganda. More looks will be revealed over the next two weeks, drawing from similar revolutionary themes of the people living in Panem.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2
In Theaters November 20, tickets on sale now

The blockbuster Hunger Games franchise has taken audiences by storm around the world, grossing more than $2.2 billion at the global box office. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 now brings the franchise to its powerful final chapter in which Katniss Everdeen [Jennifer Lawrence] realizes the stakes are no longer just for survival - they are for the future.
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow [Donald Sutherland] in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends - including Gale [Liam Hemsworth], Finnick [Sam Claflin] and Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] - Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong and features an acclaimed cast including Academy Award®-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Academy Award®-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland reprising their original roles from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. LADY MIDNIGHT by Cassandra Clare, Coming March 8th, 2016 / 1st Edition Info!

Yesterday Cassandra Clare treated fans to a picture of LADY MIDNIGHT! Check out the image she shared on her social media accounts, below:

The book is real!!! We can not wait until March 8th to read it! Cassie also shared details about the 1st edition copies of Lady Midnight. Here's what she shared; *I bolded Cassie's responses.

Would their be a first collectors edition of Lady Midnight? And what would it have that the others dont?
Hi Cassie!!! I really love your books and I’m looking forward to reading the next book, Lady Midnight! Speaking of which I’m wondering, will there be a Collectors Edition? Also which publisher will distribute these Collectors Editions? Thanks!!!!!
— project-entity-
There will be a special first edition of Lady Midnight, just like there were special first editions of Clockwork Princess and City of Heavenly Fire (The Clockwork Princess entry on my tumblr contains a good explanation of what a first edition is and how to get one). It contains a few things that aren’t going to be in any future editions.
Every first page will be hand-stamped with a rune. (I wish I could sign them all, but it is beyond my ability to sign that many books.)
Even more specially, each first edition will contain a full short story, about the size of a Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy story. Lady Midnight takes place five years after the events of City of Heavenly Fire, and as many of you already know, it follows the adventures of Emma Carstairs and Julian and Mark Blackthorn at the Los Angeles Institute. They do know the characters from TMI, and several of them drop by, but the book is about Emma, Jules and co.
There is mention in Lady Midnight, when one of the TMI characters drops by, that the characters have come from a party. I decided to write the short story of that party, so we could check in more thoroughly, emotionally with the TMI characters,to see what’s going on with them and how it ties into the events of TDA. It’s a chance to check in on couples, life, politics, and just see how things are going for everyone: we’ll obviously see Jace, Clary, Magnus, Alec, Bat and Maia, Simon and Isabelle, baby Max, Jocelyn and Luke and Lily and some of the characters from Tales from Shadowhunter Academy — and, it’s not just any party; the night contains a marriage proposal for one of our couples. The story will exist only in the first edition of Lady Midnight; All hardback first editions in English of Lady Midnight will have, printed at the end, this short story.
—
Okay, this is an explanation of what a first edition is, what editions will have special content, and how to get those editions, whatever country you may be in or dimension you may inhabit. PLEASE read the whole thing before contacting me with questions! I will love you forever.
What’s a first edition?
Publishers print books in batches called print runs. Every book printed in the first batch of books printed is a first edition. “A first edition book is a copy that was printed in the first print run, when the book was originally published. If the books sell out, the publisher will authorize the printing of a new batch, called the second edition. When that stock is depleted, the next print run is called the third edition, and so on.“
How do I get a first edition?
A first edition is, again, every book that is one of the first batch of books printed by a publisher. There are a limited amount. When they sell out, then the rest of the books printed will be without the family tree. The best way to make sure you get a first edition is to pre order. You can do this online.
If you do not want to order online, you can go into any bookstore now and tell them that you wish to pre-order a first edition. They will call you when it comes in. Bookstores can do that. They put in their own order with the publisher, and the publisher makes sure they get those first editions. You can even do this at Walmart. You can do this in any country, in any bookstore where English language books are sold.
Will the family tree be in books in other languages?
I don’t know. Those books need to be translated. The family tree has been made available to all my foreign publishers and it is their choice as to whether they wish to include it in their books. If you want to know if they will have it in their editions, you should contact a bookstore in your country and ask!

10 YA Halloween Reads / Top Ten Tuesday #41

Hello & welcome to this week's Top Ten Tuesday. This week's topic is Halloween Freebie - 10 Creepy Halloween Reads. My last Top Ten Tuesday post was, Ten Wishes I'd Ask A Book Genie For.

(Image source: Google search, free Halloween wallpaper)

Today's topic is a Halloween Freebie. Being that it's the week of Halloween, I created a list of 10 YA books I'd recommend for Halloween reads. Creating this list was much harder than I thought it would, because there are so many great spooky/creepy YA books out there. Since I'm a huge pansy when it comes to reading books that can go bump in the night, I created a list of the first 10 books that came to mind. This list has ghosts, zombies, killers, stalkers, and variety of other characters.

These books were all great reads. Some gave me the creeps, others were just a hauntingly good read, and some were just great creepy/spooky reads.

    OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

I know there are many other hauntingly great YA reads. Here are a few other recommendations that came to mind while I was creating my top ten list.

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy #9 Born to Endless Night Review

By: Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan
    Released on: 20th October 2015
Series: Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy #9
    Source: Amazon Kindle

After a warlock baby is abandoned on the steps of the Academy, Magnus rescues the child – and brings him home to his boyfriend, Alec.

This standalone e-only short story follows the adventures of Simon Lewis, star of the #1 New York Times bestselling series The Mortal Instruments, as he trains to become a Shadowhunter. Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy features characters from Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices, and the upcoming Dark Artifices and Last Hours series. Born to Endless Night is written by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan.

I have been loving reading the Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy.  I will admit I love how they are short stories so you can read them in one sitting, even when in the middle of another book.  I am lucky enough that by living in Australia the NYC time zone release for most of Amazon's kindle books is 3pm in the afternoon for me.  So when a new book comes out like these short stories, I can read them that night in bed.  But the thing with this one is I read it to fast and I wanted more! The story in this book was by far my favourite so far, and that's big considering how big a TID fan I am and we got some of Will and Jem in the early stories.

This is going to be a hard review without spoilers, but I will say the fantastic thing about Born to Endless night was all the Magnus and Alec awesomeness.  There is more of Magnus and how he is post City of Heavenly fire.  And yes we got to see some lovely Malec scenes that will keep all the fans happy.  But the gold in this story is Alec.  Although a huge character in TMI I found he was one of the hardest to know what was going on inside his head.  Born to Endless night is a great extra and conclusion to Alec's story.  We get to read into Alec's life now and how he is influencing things in the Shadowhunter World.  Plus there is a fantastic conclusion to Alec and Magnus' story that will keep you smiling for days.  Don't worry you do get to see some of Simon too and even a bit of Jace misbehaving.

I am sad that this is the second one in this series.  I am going to miss Simon and his friends and I hope we see them again in The Dark Artifices

    Catching Up with Cassie
