The Nefarious Nine: Introducing ELEMENTAL / Enter To WIN An ARC of THE ROSE SOCIETY!

Hello readers! It's been an honor to partner with Penguin Teen, Marie Lu, and a fabulous group of bloggers to celebrate Marie's upcoming release, THE ROSE SOCIETY. A couple of weeks ago we kicked off the two week introduction of the best villain crew around, here. Today I'm thrilled to introduce you to the last Nefarious Nine member, ELEMENTAL! I must admit I'm feeling totally out of element here, (haha no pun intended), with today's post. My writing isn't what my fellow blogger friends is when it comes to creating their characters, and I lack a cool graphic. However, I'm thrilled to be apart this fabulous promotional team for her upcoming release, THE ROSE SOCIETY.  They've helped me over come this fear of writing something other than a review and I ADORE Marie Lu, and her books. I hope my post won't scare her fans away. After you meet today's character, don't miss your chance to enter to win an ARC of THE ROSE SOCIETY!

ELEMTENTAL aka Elle

Have you ever wondered how cool it would to control the elements? To have the awesome power to control the air, water, electricity, fire, and even the earth? It's pretty awesome, but it wasn't always. My story didn't start out those stupid fairy-tales that make everything sound all fine and dandy. There's no happy ending, well at least not the fairytale type. Not even close.

I was born centuries ago in the middle of the woods, during a historical stormy night. In fact, nothing was left of my village that night. Nothing, except for the wooded area I was born in. I had no idea who my parents were, not that it mattered. Some would claim I was the creation of witch craft. Ha. If they only knew. Some claimed I was born of the elements, created by earth, wind, rain, and fire. That claim may not be far fetched. For a long time after my birth, when many local villages feared earth shaking thunderstorms, I welcomed them. I felt a connection to them.

I was deemed a "wild child", born and raised in the wild woods. I was feared by the locals. The fear of the woods, and what lurked in them was passed down for generations. *evil laugh* Oh if they only knew they were the real wild ones. I heard the things they said. They things they wanted to do. The threats they made. No, it didn't scare me. I don't fear anything. I embrace what I am, and what I can do. It's they who would fear me for what I could do them. To make them pay for what they wanted to do to me, and what they did to others not like them.

You can only imagine why human history has such disastrous accounts of fires, earthquakes, tsunamis and kinds of historic storms. Untrained in the powers I had as a child, I was a force to reckon with. It's not that I meant to hurt anyone, but being young I didn't realize my emotions trigged my elemental ability. That changed the day a guy, only a few years older than me, appeared in my woods. Well, they're not my woods. I call all woods my woods, as I feel home there. Peter, whom had similar powers to mine, was everything I wasn't. Trained in the arts of controlling the elements. He was skilled, naturally good hearted, strong, and patient with me.

We trained together every day. He taught me to control the elements. It took years, but I perfected my powers. I loved his friendship, and companionship. Ours was never romantic, but we loved each other and would do anything for each other. He was the family and friendship I never had, and didn't realize how much I missed it until I had it. He tamed my wildness.

We tried to keep to ourselves. Little human interaction was best. But humans have a way of interfering with things. They think they're better than everyone else. They lust after things they can't have. Like the power to control the elements. The things they would do to those not like them. Like the day they finally caught up to Peter and I. Since that day, I spent much of my time alone. For years I wandered, plotting my revenged. I promised vengeance on the human race the day they took Peter away from me. My rock, and the only one who could tame my wild energy.

That was until that fateful night I meant a group called The Nefarious. Back then there wasn't quite nine of us. Like me, they had a beautiful power, and had been wronged in life. Stupid humans. They'd never learn. For the first time I felt like I belonged somewhere other than running wild, and alone. Now I'm apart of something great. The world hasn't seen anything like us. Just you wait..... *evil laugh*
