A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristen Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

A seductive, and an addicting read, Sarah J. Maas's A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES will leave you breathless. This is a must read!

Oh this book!! It surpassed all my expectations and then some. I loved it. Any fear that I may have had about this book not living up to what I have loved about Sarah's other books, was completely foolish of me to have had. Everything that I love about Sarah's books, well crafted characters, an enchanting world, brilliant story telling, action, and a romance that leaves you breathless, are all very much apart of this book.

Sarah J. Maas's characters some of my favorites. She has a talent for creating unforgettable characters. I like that not all of her characters are ones I love right off the bat. The more I got to know her flawed, courageous, and beautifully written characters, the more I couldn't help but love them. Feyre is fearless. I greatly admired her strength and bravery through out the story. I loved Tamlin, but it definitely wasn't a love at first read. The more Feyre got to know, and fall in love with him herself, the more I did as well. I couldn't help but love him for all the same reasons she did. He is just as an amazing character as Feyre is.

Tamlin's story is a heartbreaking one. I admired the hope he has kept alive all these years. Aside from Tamlin and Feyre, I loved Lucien. He is Tamlin's most trusted friend. The banter that transpires between he and Feyre is awesome. I loved it! It was hilarious and added the right amount of humor that needed to be apart of the story, given everything else that is going on.

I loved the way Tamlin and Feyre fell in love. I loved watching the two of them fall for each other. It was not something they nor I excepted, which made it even better. It's definitely not a love at first site kind of love either. The relationship that develops is so beautifully created. I love how their stories/lives and their fate are connected.  The romance between these two is, *sigh*, awesome!  Their chemistry sizzles, and is slow burning, but once it ignites, holy Fey, does it get hot! I loved it. It's the kind of romance that leaves you flushed, while trying to catch your breathe.

The world the characters are apart of is definitely dangerous, as all Fey worlds are. Nothing is what it seems. One of the things I love about a Sarah J. Maas book is how intricate her stories are written. There is a reason for everything in the story. It wasn't until Feyre starts to realize the 'why' when it came to certain things, and how they happened, did things start clicking into place.
I love how how Sarah does this with her stories. Everything is tied together in such a beautiful way. The good, the bad, and everything in between. Let me just say, Sarah J. Maas can create some really twisted characters. I mean, they are bad. She balances out her good with her bad evenly.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a fantastic new adult read! It's one I would definitely recommend to older YA readers. This is a book that will definitely appeal to Sarah J. Maas readers! They'll be pleasantly surprised with a whole new set of Maas characters they'll get to fall in love with. I can't wait for this book's sequel!
