Cassie Clare Shares an Unidentified Snippet #Shadowhunters

Have you seen Cassie's newest snippet? Last night she shared an unidentified snippet on Tumblr, here. Read it below:
unidentified snippet
He bent down and tore a strip of material from the shirt he’d worn at the Council meeting. It was stiff and dark with his sister’s dried blood.
He tied it around his wrist. It would stay there, he told himself, until he had vengeance. Until there was justice. Until everyone he loved was safe.

Cassie is the queen of heartbreak, and this snippet is a heartbreaker. My first guess is this is Julian, however, I know Cassie does a great job at throwing us off with her snippets. What's your guess?

Odessa is one of Karthia's master necromancers, catering to the kingdom's ruling Dead. Whenever a noble dies, it's Odessa's job to raise them by retrieving their souls from a dreamy and dangerous shadow world called the Deadlands. But there is a cost to being raised--the Dead must remain shrouded, or risk transforming into zombie-like monsters known as Shades. If even a hint of flesh is exposed, the grotesque transformation will begin.

A dramatic uptick in Shade attacks raises suspicions and fears among Odessa's necromancer community. Soon a crushing loss of one of their own reveals a disturbing conspiracy: someone is intentionally creating Shades by tearing shrouds from the Dead--and training them to attack. Odessa is faced with a terrifying question: What if her necromancer's magic is the weapon that brings Karthia to its knees?

A lavish fantasy with a surprising and breathtaking LGBT romance at its core, Reign of the Fallen is a gutsy, unpredictable read that will grab readers by the throat and never let go....

I recently had the chance to read a bound manuscript of this book, and it is SO good! It's an unforgettable, fast paced fantasy. With rich world building, characters you can't help but fall in love with, and a protagonist who's epic journey I was completely immersed in. This mesmerizing read has it all! It's one of my favorite reads this year, and I can not wait to read the published book. What book are you waiting to get your hands on?
