The Shadowhunters TV Series Welcome New Cast Member, Chai Hansen as Jordan Kyle #ShadowhuntersTV @ShadowhuntersTV

Happy Mundane Monday Shadowhunters! Shadowhunters TV series fans, did you hear today's casting news? Season 3, which will premiere on Freeform on March 20th, 2018, will introduce fans to Jordan Kyle! It was announced today that Chai Hansen will be joining the cast as Jordan Kyle. It will be interesting to see what they do with Jordan's character in the tv series.

Here's what EW shared about today's news:

At San Diego Comic-Con last summer, Shadowhunters revealed that its third season would include a fan favorite from the books: Jordan Kyle. And now, EW can exclusively reveal that Chai Hansen will be taking on the role.

Additionally, EW has a first look at Jordan Kyle’s arrival, and not surprisingly, it involves Simon. As fans of the books know, Simon and Jordan become friends and even roommates, despite the fact that Jordan has a secret. But will the same plot unfold on the show? “Jordan comes into Simon’s life in a fun, unexpected way,” showrunners Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer tell EW. “The two instantly hit it off, but we soon find out there’s a lot more to Jordan than meets the eye, and repercussions that affect more than just Simon.”

Check out what Freeform shared here. I'm curious to see how Jordan evolves on the series. What do you think about today's news?

DEAR MARTIN by Nic Stone / Book Spotlight #MLKDay #DearMartin

In honor of MLK Day, I wanted to spotlight a book that really resonated with me when I read it last year. Dear Martin by Nic Stone, is a gripping, must read, debut. Nic Stone has gifted readers with a powerful book that will make you think and feel a wide range of emotions. Based on current issues, and on recent news stories, this story is told from a mix of letters Justyce writes to Martin Luther King Jr, debate class conversations he has, and Justyce's own point of view. This is definitely worth the read, as it tackles racism at it's core. I felt like I walked away from reading this book with my eyes more open. You can read my 5 star book review, here. If you haven't yet, definitely add this book to your TBR list. I for one am glad that Justyce's story is out there for all to read.

Raw, captivating, and undeniably real, Nic Stone joins industry giants Jason Reynolds and Walter Dean Myers as she boldly tackles American race relations in this stunning debut.

Justyce McAllister is top of his class and set for the Ivy League—but none of that matters to the police officer who just put him in handcuffs. And despite leaving his rough neighborhood behind, he can't escape the scorn of his former peers or the ridicule of his new classmates.

Justyce looks to the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for answers. But do they hold up anymore? He starts a journal to Dr. King to find out.

Then comes the day Justyce goes driving with his best friend, Manny, windows rolled down, music turned up—way up, sparking the fury of a white off-duty cop beside them. Words fly. Shots are fired. Justyce and Manny are caught in the crosshairs. In the media fallout, it's Justyce who is under attack.
